Review of The Adwords Miracle

After being tempted by the sales letter for a week now, I finally caved in and bought the product. The product contains three e-books and three videos. Three things that make this product great are: the author goes into detail about how to select the right products to promote. Get this wrong, and you will never be able to have a profitable campaign. He even gives away five niches that he advertisers in. Second, detailed instructions are provided on how to write killer ads that will improve click through rate. Third, if you don’t understand some points, the videos help clarify things. I have not put his techniques to the test yet so I can’t vouch for them. But the information was very good and much different than what I’ve heard before. And if you read elsewhere in my blog you know I have purchased most of the pay per click products currently on the market.

Without testing the product, out of 10 points, I give this product 8.

  • Hi,

I've been using some of the techniques detailed in Adwords Miracle for about 3 weeks now and I would recommend it to anyone.

Chris, the author, has kindly agreed to an interview and you can see the first 2 parts on my blog, the first part is here:

  • I've read through a few of your posts on this blog, and I can't help but think that your affiliate campaigns are failing due to a few specific reasons.

First off, are you linking directly to your affiliate link in your ads? You should only do this to test the profitability of certain markets. You're right about not getting any repeat business through affiliate marketing if you do it this way. I wholeheartedly recommend taking Chris's advice in AdWords Miracle, when he says to set up four or five different campaigns to test out different niches or products. Let them all run not just to 100 clicks, but to 300 or more. With just 100 clicks, you're not really getting accurate performance data. The more clicks you can afford, the better you can gauge your performance. So if you're getting a 1% conversion rate after 100 clicks, ask yourself if you made any money or if you lost a small enough amount that you can afford to go on. Let it go another 100 clicks and see if you do any better.

What you should really be doing is setting up an opt-in page and building a list. Your posts on this blog would make good content for a newsletter, just be sure to include affiliate links that are valuable, relevant, and that you can vouch for.

Also, you can offer incentives for people who buy through your affiliate links. Instead of linking direct to the affiliate, link to your own landing page with information about the product. It could be a review or something, or you could just copy the sales pitch. Be sure to collect opt-ins, first off, by offering a free report or e-book or something. (Search for "free e-books" and you'll find tons of stuff you can give away legally.) Also, many product vendors will actually give you some goodies like coupon codes and downloads or exclusive offers that you can put up as an incentive to opt-in. Then, a really big thing is to offer people a direct rebate on their purchase. So if you're selling a $97 e-book for a 75% commission, offer them 30% of their money back just for buying through your link. Throw other deals on top of that, and you'll greatly improve your conversions.

Just be sure to explain that if a product has a money-back guarantee, people have to wait until that offer has run out before they can get a rebate from you. Most people will just forget about it after 60 days (or however long the offer is).

Finally, how are you deciding which keywords to bid on? I haven't read all your posts, so I don't know if you're using Wordtracker or anything similar. I've been using Wordtracker for a while and have been really happy with it. (I have a how-to guide on using it posted on my blog, if you care to take a look.)

I'll bet, if you make a few changes to the way you're going about marketing your affiliate products, you'll start to see much better results. Linking directly to your affiliate link is pretty much the bottom-of-the-barrel way to do things.

Also, I may be able to offer you certain products for free. If there's an e-book you're looking into, shoot me an e-mail or a comment on my blog to find out if I can get it for you at no cost.

  • Hi Ryan, thanks for the great post. I appreciate the advice. I think one of my biggest problems is I'm advertising to markets that aren't going to be profitable.

I could get the keywords right, good ad copy, nice sales letter, but the market just won't give me the conversion rate I need for a campaign to be profitable.

I would like to read your blog. Please post the address.
